The Wayne State University Police Department (WSUPD) is proud to be the national headquarters and the Region One Training Center for the NDTC. This location is the administrative and policy-making center of the NDTC. It serves as the headquarters for a network of Regional Training Centers spanning the United States. These Centers facilitate innovation, research, and development of best practices in law enforcement de-escalation training.
The concept of regionalization is in keeping with standardization and proliferation of best training practices, reduction of training costs, and closer proximity to training centers. The network of Regional Training Centers will collaboratively engage in innovation and development of effective de-escalation practices. Regional Training Centers are highly encouraged to anchor, with a local universities to expand academic research opportunities, internships, and externships (both on-ground and virtual).
