The NDTC on-ground headquarters is located at Wayne State University (Detroit) to facilitate innovation, research, and development of best practices in law enforcement de-escalation training. It is structured to serve as the headquarters for a series of Regional Training Centers in states spanning the United States.
The concept of regionalization is in keeping with standardization and proliferation of best training practices, reduction of training costs, and closer proximity to training centers.
The network of Regional Training Centers will collaboratively engage in innovation and development of effective de-escalation practices. Regional Training Centers are highly encouraged to anchor, with a local university, to expand academic research opportunities, internships, and externships (both on-ground and virtual).
Sunday, October 3rd: NDTC Medical Director, Dr. Tim Eckstein, has ordered the resuming of training activities at the Southwestern National Regional Training Center (SWRTC). The remaining five (5) NDTC Regional Training Centers are not currently impacted because their (respective) rate of positive COVID-19 tests have not been more than 15%. Dr. Eckstein is continuously monitoring the situation in the National Network and will direct any changes as may be necessary.
